    The Imagination Factory

The Imagination Factory integrates art with science and social studies to teach recycling concepts in a fun and entertaining way.  Visitors learn how to make art using easy to obtain solid waste as a source of free materials.  Some of the activities include drawing, painting, sculpture, collage, papier-mâché, marbling and crafts. The site features Trashasaurus Rex, a giant, solid waste sculpture, and a Trash Matcher that allows visitors to find appropriate art activities for the solid waste they have available.  A new feature called the Badge Matcher helps Brownies, Girl Scouts and their leaders quickly locate art activities that help satisfy badge requirements. Two special activities that were added in honor of the victims of September 11th are "Weave a Freedom Bracelet" and "Create a New York City Firefighter Angel."

A discussion of terrorism, in terms that children can understand, is included in the first activity.  The projects can be accessed by clicking on the text below the red, white, and blue ribbon located on the left of the Previous Activities page. The Imagination Factory is located in Columbus, Indiana, an American city famous for its modern architecture and preserved 19th Century structures.  Columbus has the world's greatest concentration of modern buildings designed by famous architects, and people come from all over to see and study the architecture.    A special section at the site entitled "A Kid's Columbus" takes visitors on a virtual tour of things of interest to children.

    Sesame Street Workshop

For everything Sesame Street and more!

This is not a site just for the kids. I had a good look around this site and I just could not get enough of it. It has everything from crafts to make for Dad's for Father's day, to tips for parents. I have to admit though I think the best feature of this entire site is moving your mouse over Elmo and hearing him laugh, but then I really like Elmo.

So why not go and have a good look because I can guarantee that you will have a great time.
